Easily Change Wordpress More Tag Text with Thesis Theme

We discussed the more tag and how to utilize it on your fitness blog for enticing more comments and page views.  Tease the reader and then encourage them to click your post so that the comments section will be on screen after they finish reading.

If your whole post is on the homepage, there is no “ease” to comment.  But we’ve already talked about that.  It was also shown how you can change the text for the more tag by going into your Wordpress fitness blog’s post editor in HTML view.

Wordpress for Fitness Blogs

We’ve already talked about that.  I also briefly explained why in my opinion every fitness blogger should consider getting the Thesis theme from DIY Themes.

Now lets take a look at how Thesis can make things easier for you and your fitness blogging experience.

When you’re in post view and writing out your next health and fitness blog post, Thesis offers some options for you just below the writing window.

Thesis SEO Panel

You can see the image above is the Thesis theme SEO customization panel.  The nice thing you can do with Thesis for your fitness blog is give every single post a different meta description and title tag.  This can also be done with various SEO packs.

However we want to scroll below that to “Read More” Text.  This is just one of the minimal features of Thesis that makes it easy to use.  Rather than customizing the more–> text in html view of your post, you can just enter whatever text you want into that box.

While this may not be major, it does keep you from having to go into html view as mentioned, and scroll through all the text looking for your more tag.  Just one more thing to make your life easier.

What else can you share that makes your life easier?  Not even Wordpress related…please share with a comment.

I’ve just started blogging (having converted my existing static site to Wordpress), and I’ve been following your advice very closely. As a professional copywriter of over 10 years’ experience, I admire your model of providing high quality content as the basis of everything you do, and will try to emulate this approach on my blog.
